Join IAS–USA for a timely and highly anticipated virtual symposium on the management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV. With new, practice-changing data recently presented at the 2025 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) underscoring the evolving landscape of STI management, this half-day course provides a comprehensive review of the latest updates to clinical guidelines and advances in the prevention and treatment of STIs. Designed to balance expert-led didactic sessions with case-based discussions and practical clinical applications, this virtual course aims to help clinicians stay at the forefront of STI and HIV management.

Preliminary Topics

The following issues in HIV and STIs will be covered:

  • Updates on hepatitis B coinfection: challenging serology and treatment approaches
  • Treatment and prevention of syphilis, including congenital syphilis during pregnancy
  • Updates on chlamydia management, including vaccines for the prevention of STIs
  • Management implications of antimicrobial-resistant gonorrhea
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)-related cancer, including guideline updates on screening and treatment of anal cancer
  • HIV and preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP)

Learning Objectives

On completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss challenges related to doxycycline postexposure prophylaxis (doxyPEP) for the prevention of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis
