Joint meeting of the International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR) and the International Union Against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI)
July 14-17, 2019
Vancouver, BC, Canada
The 23rd ISSTDR meeting will be held as a joint meeting with the 20th IUSTI World meeting at the Vancouver Conference Centre. This Congress represents the joint meeting of the International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR) and the International Union Against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI). This biennial meeting is one of the largest international meetings on sexually transmitted infections, drawing delegates from around the world.
Under the theme of ‘The Evolving Landscape of STI and HIV Elimination,’ this meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for the world’s most prominent researchers and health care professionals to come together in the shared goal of improving global public health in the field of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. The meeting will provide Congress attendees the opportunity to network with experts, present their research findings to an international audience, hear the latest scientific developments from world leaders in the STI/HIV field, and contribute to discussions that will shape future health policies and patient care around the world.
ASTDA will host a number of sessions for young STD investigators at the conference, as has become a growing tradition at these meetings. These sessions feature work by young investigators as well as panel sessions on grant writing and publishing with journal editors and representatives of granting organizations. Specifically, there will be a young investigator mentor-mentee breakfast session on July 15th, as well as two “meet the experts” sessions on July 16th and 17th. Also, ASTDA will host its annual awards ceremony and luncheon on Tuesday July 16, 12:15-13:45. The luncheon is open to all conference attendees. For more details, please check the program on the meeting website.
